BOMA BEST Sustainable and BOMA BEST Smart are two separate certification programs. While they are operated in the same way from registration to certification, the programs offer different roadmaps to building operational excellence and are intended to be pursued separately. For example, a building that is pursuing both certifications will be invoiced for participation in each program separately, and cannot share points between questionnaires. Nevertheless, both questionnaires speak to different aspects of building sustainability and technology.
