BOMA BEST Policies

TITLE

Policy 18: Respect, Safety and Reasonable Conduct

BOMA BEST is committed to fostering a professional and respectful environment in all interactions with its internal team, including employees, consultants, volunteers. Clients, and external consultants are expected to uphold the same standards of professionalism and respect when engaging with the BOMA BEST team.

Professional and Respectful Interactions

BOMA BEST requires all external clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to demonstrate professionalism and respect in their interactions with the internal BOMA BEST team. This includes refraining from any form of harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior.

Behaviour that targets an individual or group on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, place of origin, ethnic origin, citizenship, ancestry, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, same-sex partnership status, age, marital or family status, physical or mental disability, or other is strictly prohibited.

Unacceptable conduct also includes any actions, language, or behaviour that creates a hostile, intimidating, or offensive environment for BOMA BEST team members, whether intentional or unintentional.

Scope of Policy

This policy applies to all external clients, visitors, suppliers, and contractors interacting with the internal BOMA BEST team. These expectations extend to:

  • On-site visits to BOMA BEST offices or facilities.
  • Off-site meetings, events, or activities reasonably associated with BOMA BEST’s business operations.
  • Remote communications, including email, phone calls, video conferencing, and other virtual platforms.

Reporting and Resolution

If a member of the BOMA BEST team experiences or witnesses behavior that does not align with this policy, they are encouraged to report the incident to info@bomabest.org.

BOMA BEST will treat all reports of inappropriate behavior seriously and handle them confidentially. Corrective action, including potential termination of business relationships, may be taken if a violation of this policy is confirmed.
